Save the Dates
I designed our STDs in Powerpoint and uploaded them to Vistaprint. I got 100 free postcards and just had to pay shipping! These are getting sent out at the end of October/beginning of November so they will get out before holiday mail.
Invitations
I decided early on that I wanted to DIY my invitations for 2 reasons. One was to save money. The second was so that I could completely customize them to what I wanted and have fun making them. I am 3/4 of the way done with them and they have definitely been a labor of love, but so worth it.
I bought purple pocketfolds from paperandmore.com. The rest of my card stock came from a local paper wholesaler. I designed the invitation and inserts in Microsoft Word. It took a lot of playing around with layouts and fonts until I got it just the way I wanted. I had them printed and cut (huge time saver) at Office Depot for $20! I embossed the 2 flowers on each invitation and then it was just a matter of putting everything together. Not hard by any means, but definitely one of my more time consuming projects. Total I spent $300 to make 100 invitations so each one ended up costing my $3.
